Margaret Hendry School

We were thrilled to be able to welcome the Governor General and Lady Cosgrove to Margaret Hendry School. While at school they spoke with many children and toured through our Innovative Learning Environments. They participated in a Harmony Day activity with children in the library, made puppets and read stories with the preschool children and were led through the Yr 3-6 learning environments by their amazing tour guides – Isabella and Maverick. Their Excellencies were impressed with the school and facilities, but more so with the students, learning coaches and educators. In particular they reported that they were very impressed with Isabella and Maverick, who were both very knowledgeable on the school and articulate in their delivery. We enjoyed showcasing our wonderful school and the journey that we have been on since our opening in February 2019.

The Margaret Hendry Experience

The Margaret Hendry Experience community event provided families with the opportunity to be led through the day in the life of a Margaret Hendry School student. Many friendships were formed while children played and families enjoyed dinner and listened to the a quartet from the Royal Military College Band. The evening culminated with the children proudly showing their families through the learning community and collecting wonderings to answer at a later date. The link will take you to a copy of our brochure which outlines the Margaret Hendry Experience and approach to teaching and learning for those families that weren’t able to attend.

Community Welcome at Margaret Hendry School in partnership with Mingle Group

Today we welcomed a large number of our prospective families into the space to learn more about the design of the contemporary teaching spaces and what teaching and learning will look like at Margaret Hendry School. The Mingle group provided refreshments for all in attendance and we were able to gain community feedback and input on many important aspects of our developing school culture. We look forward to repeating this session on Monday 5 November at 6pm.
