It is important to us that we work in partnership with parents and carers. Communication between home and school is key to this.
Avenues for communication:
We value working in genuine partnership with our parents and carers, and strong communication between home and school is essential to that relationship. We also understand that connecting with teachers can sometimes be challenging — their timetables are full, and families are managing busy lives too.
To help ensure your message reaches the right person as efficiently as possible, please follow this communication pathway:
- Classroom teacher or specialist teacher
- Executive teacher: Rebecca Newton (Preschool/Kinder). Tilly Cave (Year 1 and 2, Small Group), Linda Baird (Years 3, 4 and 5) and Anneli Bjorasen (Year 6 and oversight for specialist classes)
- Deputy Principal and/or Community Coordinator: Toni Constable (preschool and kinder), Kylie Moller(Year 1 and 2, Small Group),Ivan Lloyd (Years 3,4,5,6 and specialist classes). Community Coordinator- Hannah Freyne.
- Principal- Kate Flynn

Right to disconnect:
Our teachers and school staff work hard every day to provide the best outcomes for every student.
Preparing for great teaching takes time. It is important that our teachers and school staff have time outside their core hours to rest and reset.
Communication with parents and carers is important to us and our staff will always work to get back to your enquiries within a reasonable timeframe. We aim to do this within 3 workings days. If your matter is urgent, we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
The ACT Education Directorate has told us that there is no expectation that teachers respond to queries from families during their personal and family time.
Every student and every family is important to us. By respecting the time of our teachers, you are helping to make time for great teaching.
We want to continue to work closely with you on your child’s learning at school and do our best to respond to you in a timely manner.
We update families on what is happening at our school in a number of ways from information sessions, emails, notes, SWAY, Parent Portal and social media. We encourage you to stay up to date with school events through these channels.
