Our community hub plays host to two playgroups every week. Monday Burrus (kangaroos) Groups, and Friday Gulas (Koalas) group.
What are the ages of the other children? We have varied ages (newborn to 5) - but lots of babies and toddlers!
How structured or unstructured is the group? We are quite unstructured. Please bring a snack for your child. The group is a mix of outside and indoor play- and catching up with other parents. We have volunteers from Woden Community service who sometimes help to sing songs, read a story and provide activities.
What would be expected of you as a member of the group (for example would you need to take a turn to arrange a craft activity now and then)? We ask that parents help set up or pack up, (everyone together). It’s mostly a free play environment so no pressure to organise activities! We also ask all parents to make sure they welcome new members and show them what to do. (signing in etc.)
What is the cost of attending? No cost. But if you could register for Monday and Friday Margaret Hendry playgroup at ACT Playgroups here so you are covered by insurance. They suggest a donation, but this is not compulsory.
When do you meet? We meet from 9-11am on Mondays and Fridays during school terms in our Community Hub. If you go to the front office they can show you where that is.
How do I stay connected? Please join the Facebook group here to see the things that are going on!
ACT Playgroups are starting a new playgroup for families with children with additional needs. Starting on the 18th March, the playgroup will start at 9:30 until 11:30, in the community hub.
